On January 17th, The Guild of NH Woodworkers presented Franklin Middle School with 4 new scroll saws to enhance learning opportunities in woodworking through their grant program.
This was the beginning of what has become an amazing partnership where students at Franklin Middle School are able to access master craftsmen who have graciously given their time to help restore woodshop equipment, sharpen tools, and provide demonstrations and education.
Within a week’s time, 7th and 8th grade students in woodshop were able to independently and safely create projects, using the new scroll saws, changing blades as needed, and working collaboratively to create cut-outs and puzzles.

The Guild of NH Woodworkers didn’t stop there; they partnered with Franklin Middle School to provide continuing educational experiences through their Guild to Schools program.
