Dear Franklin Families,

I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving break.  Despite the trying times we are in, we have much to be grateful for.  I am grateful for my staff and our families who have worked so closely together during this pandemic to make sure our students are well fed, cared for, and continue their learning.

I also wanted to remind you about the mandatory travel quarantines that are in place if anyone is traveling out of New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut) during the break.  The requirements are either a 14 day quarantine upon return or a 7 day quarantine with a negative PCR test administered on the 7th day of the quarantine.  I would ask you to reach out to our school nurses and administrators if you have any questions regarding this quarantine requirement.

I  will continue to monitor the situation at all 3 schools in regard to positive Covid-19 cases and staff quarantines during the holiday break.  As you know, the Monday we return is already a fully remote day at all 3 schools.  I have attached a decision making rubric from the Department of Public Health that I use to help determine whether we should be hybrid or fully remote at each of the 3 schools.  The situation at the middle school for today in regard to staff quarantines put us in the fully remote status for today at the middle school.  I will let you know next Monday afternoon where we are at for next Tuesday.

Lastly, I wanted to encourage you to download our new mobile app if you have not done so already.  It will give you updated notifications and information on the 3 schools right on your mobile phone.  Go to the app store and search for "Franklin Schools NH"  to download the app and have access to all things SAU 18  right in your pocket.

As always, let me know if you have any questions.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving break!

Sincerely,

Dan LeGallo
