We invite you to join us for a screening and discussion panel of Tre Maison Dasan on Tuesday, October 5th, 5:30 - 8:30 PM on Zoom and in-person at Smitty’s Cinema in Tilton.
Tre Maison Dasan is an intimate portrait of three boys growing up, each with a parent in prison. Directly told through the child’s perspective, the film is an exploration of relationships and separation, masculinity, and coming of age in America when a parent is behind bars.
5:30 PM: Enjoy a free buffet dinner and view student artwork from the local schools and summer camp sponsored by the Department of Corrections.
6 - 7:30 PM: TMD film screening. We will also have 2 kid friendly movies for your children in an adjacent theater.
7:30 - 8:30 PM: Discussion led by Laura Knoy former host of NHPR's The Exchange, and will feature local activists including Al, a student who had both parents incarcerated as a child.
From this event, we hope all will gain a deeper understanding of how to better help the 15,000 New Hampshire children who have an incarcerated parent.
