If you've enjoyed the Will Farrell movie for years (came out in 2003), then you will really love seeing Elf the Musical live on the Historic Franklin Opera House stage!! Elf is produced by the Franklin Footlight Community Theatre company, but includes students from Paul Smith, Franklin Middle and Franklin High School! Footlight gives students at all three schools an opportunity to perform and learn working with seasoned and experienced performers and stage technicians. Many of our students get to perform alongside actors who have worked professionally as well as been trained in college, and they also get the chance to learn the technical side of theater from trained and experienced technicians. There are currently 2 PSS students, 5 FMS and 7 high school students learning and experiencing theater. We have one high school student earning an ELO in Lighting Design and others working on sound, make-up and running crew. We also have FHS and PSS staff members working on this production as well as 13 FHS theater alumni who are participating! This is truly a collaborative learning experience for our students, working with community members as well as performers from all over NH. Elf opens this weekend and runs December 3-5 and December 9-11 and coincides with the Opera House Festival of Trees. Unfortunately, tickets are selling out fast, so get yours soon!!
