Dear Franklin Families,
As we experience the increase of daily numbers associated with the pandemic, we are implementing a new dismissal process for our students who are picked up by a trusted adult. Our hope is that the new dismissal process will help to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Beginning Tuesday, December 8th, the end of school dismissal process will require all family members to REMAIN IN THEIR VEHICLE. When entering the school parking lot, please follow the signs and the direction of the staff member(s) who are facilitating the traffic flow. As you drive into the parking loop please drive to the furthest parking space possible. A staff member will be at each parking spot. Once they read the card displayed on your windshield, your student will be released and will walk to the vehicle. Once you see your child, we ask that the parent or guardians help their child buckle in. Once the parent/ guardian is back in the car, we ask that you wait to be released from your space.
If your child is a Group B student, your windshield tag is coming home today. If your child is a Group A student, your windshield tag will come home on Tuesday. Group A students will be dismissed on Tuesday through adult to staff communication at each vehicle.
Along with the month of December comes some changes in our weather which require our students to dress differently for the next few months. With the first snowfall coming tomorrow, we expect that our playground and fields will be covered with snow.
PSS students have a daily 30 minute recess. During this time, it is important that the children get outside every day. This will require winter clothing. Please make sure your child wears a warm winter coat, a hat and mittens. All children should bring snow pants and boots to school. All clothing should be labeled with their name, first and last. Please help your child come to school prepared for the winter weather.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Stay safe and healthy,
Sue Blair
