Today, we caught a couple of fifth graders voluntarily taking their lunch with Mr. Harrison so they could continue working on their projects. Three students were working on a bridge challenge. One student explained, "We get $12,500 fake dollars to build a bridge that holds the most hot wheels cars. We have to use our resources." Another student continued on a map project she was excited to work on. FMS fifth graders are definitely committed to learning!

Dear FMS Families: Next week, we are going to make a slight adjustment to our morning routine. Students arriving at school between 8:05 and 8:20 can either go directly to the cafeteria to get breakfast or wait outside. Students will not be allowed into the main school building to go to classrooms until 8:20 am. If students are coming in for Leadership or another meeting, that teacher will make arrangements to meet them outside and escort them in. Staff will be outside and in the cafeteria to monitor students from 8:05-8:20. In the case of inclement weather such as rain, snow or extreme cold, we will open the gym. Most days, however, we will be outside, so students should dress accordingly. No students should be arriving on campus prior to 8:05 AM as there is no adult supervision until that time. Go Hurricanes!
