Dear Franklin Families,
With the impending hot weather we will be shortening the school schedules starting tomorrow for the remainder of the week.
The elementary school will dismiss students at 11:00 tomorrow through Friday. The middle school will dismiss students at 12:00 tomorrow through Friday. The high school will dismiss students at 12:15 tomorrow through Friday.
I apologize for the inconvenience but do not want students in classrooms in the afternoon when the temperatures reach their peak. I hope the students enjoy the last week of school.
Sincerely,
Dan LeGallo

We are Bravely reimagining student success! We are excited to announce that Franklin Middle School is one of only four teams selected for the 2024-25 Bravely from Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC). NGLC awarded us a grant of $12,500 and a year of professional learning for a small team to work on bringing our vision for student success to life. Our team can't do this alone and will create opportunities to invite our community to learn with them and contribute to our common goal—providing the learning experiences and the positive outcomes that our young people need and deserve. Learn more from NGLC's announcement!

Franklin middle school's Allied Arts teachers arranged an amazing day of fun for all of the students! There was face painting, snowball making, cornhole games(which were created by students in the technical education class), an inflatable obstacle course, and naturally a skill game, which ends up with someone getting a bucket of water splashed on their head! Students and faculty alike had a marvelous time! Special, thank you to our own Nic Dorval who took a vacation day to fix snowcones for all of the students and staff❤️

Dear Franklin Families,
I am excited to invite you to our 100th year of Class Day Parades this Thursday commencing promptly at 12:30! The parade route starts at Franklin High School and travels down Central Street to Grevior’s Furniture and turns around and travels back to the high school. Middle school students will travel back to West Bow Street and board buses to return back to the middle school. All other parade participants will end at the high school.
All students and staff will be wearing a commemorative t-shirt that will be distributed Thursday morning. We have extra shirts on sale for $20 a piece if you are interested in purchasing one. Please feel free to stop by the SAU if you are interested.
As this is the 100th anniversary of the parade we have over 600 alumni participating including a member of the Class of 1948! Thank you to Kathy Fuller for energizing and organizing the alumni.
We expect a big crowd so please plan on arriving early to get a great spot for this historic event for the School District and City of Franklin!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely

PSS grade 1 students who are learning about the ocean had a visit from a University of New Hampshire researcher and graduate student today. Rachel is studying Marine Bioacoustics. She shared recordings of humpback whales obtained by UNH researchers. Grade 1 students asked amazing questions about how whales make their sounds and how sound travels under water. It was a fascinating learning experience for the students.

Dear Franklin Families,
I am pleased to share with you an incredible act of kindness. Brenda Petelle, Food Service Director, and I met with a gentleman yesterday who donated $10,000 to Food Service to pay off all the student lunch balances in the district! The donor wishes to stay anonymous.
Student balances will be updated in the next week or so to reflect this generous donation. I hope this news brings a bit of relief to our families during these difficult economic times.
Sincerely,
Dan :)
