Good Morning Franklin Families. Bus 806 is running about 20 minutes late this morning. Please be patient.

Dear Franklin Families,
I am excited to invite you to our 100th year of Class Day Parades this Thursday commencing promptly at 12:30! The parade route starts at Franklin High School and travels down Central Street to Grevior’s Furniture and turns around and travels back to the high school. Middle school students will travel back to West Bow Street and board buses to return back to the middle school. All other parade participants will end at the high school.
All students and staff will be wearing a commemorative t-shirt that will be distributed Thursday morning. We have extra shirts on sale for $20 a piece if you are interested in purchasing one. Please feel free to stop by the SAU if you are interested.
As this is the 100th anniversary of the parade we have over 600 alumni participating including a member of the Class of 1948! Thank you to Kathy Fuller for energizing and organizing the alumni.
We expect a big crowd so please plan on arriving early to get a great spot for this historic event for the School District and City of Franklin!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely
Dan LeGallo

PSS grade 1 students who are learning about the ocean had a visit from a University of New Hampshire researcher and graduate student today. Rachel is studying Marine Bioacoustics. She shared recordings of humpback whales obtained by UNH researchers. Grade 1 students asked amazing questions about how whales make their sounds and how sound travels under water. It was a fascinating learning experience for the students.

Dear Franklin Families,
I am pleased to share with you an incredible act of kindness. Brenda Petelle, Food Service Director, and I met with a gentleman yesterday who donated $10,000 to Food Service to pay off all the student lunch balances in the district! The donor wishes to stay anonymous.
Student balances will be updated in the next week or so to reflect this generous donation. I hope this news brings a bit of relief to our families during these difficult economic times.
Sincerely,
Dan :)
